Cheryl brings over 23 years of experience working in psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, geriatrics, and traumatic brain injury and counselling. With the health care crisis plaguing our province, specifically surrounding access to doctors, and specialists, as an RSCW, Cheryl can provide diagnostic services— helping rule out mental health issues, diagnosing using the DSM 5 and assist with decisions regarding future care planning and treatment strategies.

Education

Cheryl began her education at UNBC, studying her BSc in Psychology, where her thesis focused on cross-cultural psychology. Continuing her education and adding adventure, Cheryl chose to obtain her Masters of Social Work with a focus in Psychiatry at Massey University in New Zealand. Upon graduating with her MSW, Cheryl returned to B.C. and she chose to settle in Kamloops where she worked 10 years in Interior Health (Psychiatry) and started her private practice part-time in 2013.
